The decisions taken by the European Parliament fundamentally determine our lives today. The media report in detail on the decisions that the MEPs from the 28 EU Member States take in public plenary sessions in Strasbourg or Brussels.
Nevertheless, it does not always appear simple to see through the political happenings within the EU:
How does a new EU law come about?
What role do the members of parliament play?
And how much influence does Austria have?
The DVD offers an exciting insight behind the scenes of the European Parliament – from the work in the committees and political groups to the debates in 24 official languages to the possibilities of co-determination for EU citizens. The comprehensive DVD is supplemented with info relating to the historical development of the EU Parliament, the distribution of competence between the EU institutions and the enormous logistics in the background.
Particularly the interactive structure of the menu guidance ensures that knowledge is conveyed in a lasting way. The DVD offers the possibility of moving virtually through the plenary session rooms in Strasbourg and Brussels in order to discover and play info clips there about the functioning of the EU Parliament and the political work of the members of Parliament.
In addition, the 30 or so brief videos with an average duration of 2 minutes also provide background info, from the sites of the European Parliament spread across several countries to the associated travel and the work of the numerous employees behind the scenes. Alternatively to the "tour" through the plenary rooms, the info clips can also be called up via the "President's agenda".
