The Villach region has a southerly, almost Mediterranean flair like virtually no other area in Austria. That is not by chance: After all, the region is located in the most southerly part of the country and forms the gateway to the adjoining neighbors Italy and Slovenia.
The number of hours of sun also has a southerly feel to it: The sun laughs in the sky here for around 2,100 hours a year. It is also the sun that conjures up the most beautiful colors: The sunlight bathes people and landscape in a sea of colors and shows them in their full glory.
The documentary captures these colors and with them throws a light on the different facets of the region. These range from the landscape and the flora and fauna to the inhabitants and the cultural diversity. It shows exciting and crazy stories of people who live here and symbolize the region.
